Papersky Inc. was founded in 1996 by Lucas Badtke-Berkow. The company, previously known as Knee High Media (name changed to Papersky inc. in 2024) has been the brain and creative mechanism behind some of Japan’s most innovative and influential magazines: culture magazine TOKION (1996), kids magazine MAMMOTH (2000), travel magazine PAPERSKY (2002), free paper METRO MIN (2002), and botanical magazine PLANTED (2006). Besides creating unique magazines PAPERSKY Creative also edits and produces websites, shops, clothing, content, advertising, branding as well as real spaces (inns, cafes, bookstores and more).
